Owner and Principal Designer

Diane has been designing distinctive interiors for over 20 years. She honed her skills as a principal designer at a high-end residential firm before venturing out on her own in 2017. Her strong relationships with architects, builders, vendors and most importantly clients, have given her a solid foundation on which to build her firm.

Diane weaves her passion for design, architecture and art throughout all her projects. Her strong collaborative spirit and unfussy approach, result in beautiful spaces that reflect how her clients want to live.

Diane works mainly in the Greater Boston area and the Cape and Islands but longstanding relationships have brought her designs to New York, Vermont, Texas and other locations.

Diane holds a B.A. in Communications from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is an interior design graduate of New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University.

In her free time, Diane can be found traveling with family and friends, gardening and going on long walks with her pup Sammy.

EMMA HOWLAND

Design Assistant

Emma has been an integral part of Diane Murphy Interiors for the past 4 years. Emma’s organizational skills, conceptual thinking, creativity and eye for color make her an invaluable part of this team. Emma assists in all aspects of the design process from initial drawings to detailed schedules as well as aiding in furniture, fabric, finishes, lighting and accessory selections.

Emma is a graduate of Suffolk University’s New England School of Art and Design, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Top Undergraduate Thesis. Prior to joining Diane Murphy Interiors, Emma worked in customer service and lighting design.

Emma was born and raised in the greater Boston area. Outside of work Emma enjoys hiking, going on long walks with her dogs, trying new restaurants, thrift shopping, traveling, and visiting new places with her boyfriend whenever they can!
